• A weird week being at work between Christmas and New Year’s, but nice that we have a long weekend (Thur -> Mon) following it

• Work has been busy (for reasons that I’ll share at some point soon) and not quite the more chill week we’d hoped

• Been very chilly this week

• Now I have a set of the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 - as a present from Anna - I’ve been using my old ones for work calls

• But it’s interesting how the noise cancelling isn’t quite as good as I thought, as I can hear the whine of the fans of my PC

• New Year’s Eve was a fairly chill time

• Cookie and Morph were both very good with the fireworks, which also weren’t as bad as usual so that was good

• Not the best curry from Woodthorpe Tandori, but at least we tried it - and it arrived so much earlier than we’d expected 😅 (it was on time, but usually we expect ~90 minutes delay on NYE)

• Watching Big Fat Quiz of the Year (2025) was also a good way to round out the year

• New year means:

• A review of my site’s traffic

• A review of my music

• I’m also thinking about how to better present what’s what

• Made some tweaks to books-mf2 to improve the content-negotiation to result in a much better experience, which needed a bit of reminding how that all worked 😅

• Our new Spode Christmas mugs are lovely but they’re a bit diddy, so we’ve been getting used to almost instantly drinkable tea

• Morph and Cookie were playing a bit together earlier, which is a first! Morph was excitedly racing around, and she followed him, but didn’t chase him off which was nice

• Was nice to see Auntie Anne, and help her with some of the old devices cleanup

• Had a 2-person Cook Christmas meal which was very good, and so much smaller than the 12 person one

• Had a nice date night at Pici last night

• Packing away the Christmas decorations, which we’ll finish off tomorrow

• Watched a fox scurrying about before picking up Rakki Rakkas

• Although we’re on holiday, with the conversations around Ghostty’s usage of Discussions for triage, I’ve been drafting a blog post about how we’ve found it to be useful for Renovate (primarily to get it out of my head)
