You know, dear Lord, Christmas is due; a friend invited ‘us,’
To go with them, way out of state; riding in a bus.
She told how ‘kin’ had made a play to celebrate Christ’s birth.
A manger would be baby’s bed, as God’s Son came to earth!
The guy in charge, had all things planned, including Angels, too.
Musicians were already there – they knew just what to do!
‘Mary’ wrapped her babe in blanket, laid him in the manger,
No room in Inns; so, this would do, nothing could be stranger!
A big building had all this stuff, Angels from the ceiling.
When Jesus was tucked, ‘Guy’ pointed up, and Angels came on down.

They looked toward Jesus, voices, loud and strong. "Glory to newborn King."
Shepherds nearby saw Angels come; frightened them and their sheep!
When told, ‘Not to fear’ - this special news, almost made them weep.
Village nearby, they found the ‘scene’; they praised the Lord above.
For all folks there, this practice time, showed just how much they loved.
Rehearsal done, Shepherds gone back; Angels came down to ‘Joe’.
They all helped clean and tidy things, preparing for ‘real SHOW!’
And as they cleaned they also sang, ‘Glory To God Above’,
‘And peace on earth, for pleasing Him, we’re covered with His love.’
Our friend came home, told all these things, they were so glad they went.
They knew all this but seeing it – to them much more it meant.
The Bible says, Mary treasured all these things in her heart.
What a lovely story to read; read Luke 2; we’ll all be smart.
We thank You, Lord, for sending Jesus, to be our guide and shield.
Also, we remember, before Him – we’ll have also Kneeled.
Love, Mara.
