Grid tables are no longer supported in the visual table editor, though some navigation shortcuts still work, with expanded support being considered for later.
Beyond tables, Zettlr 4.0 adds an in app image and PDF viewer for quick previews alongside your documents, with image zoom and scrolling and PDF viewing based on Chromium. The release also ships a rewritten citation parser with clearer feedback and stronger compatibility with Pandoc style citation syntax, including curly brace keys and pandoc crossref support.
Other updates include faster exports, improved footnote and link workflows, a new onboarding screen, refreshed writing stats views, and a faster file system layer for detecting external changes.
