This one’s been a hard one, the scope of what I’m aiming for is pretty big, so there’s been so many places to focus on, from combat, to designing units to world generation to economy design

I was catching up with a fellow gamedev friend of mine and he told me something that basically brought me back down to earth
Focus on the game loop
It reminded me of something that made me actively want to pivot this project which it turns out had already slipped my mind
If it’s not in the game it’s not real
And to be honest, until I get a basic loop done, this isn’t really a game, it’s a tech demo at best

However, it’s not done yet, or I would have shared something, I don’t mean it needs polishing, I mean there’s a couple of simple bugs that are blocking me from cutting a build
So fixing those is my current goal, get that out asap and then begin refining it
Turn that into a simple functioning gameloop that hopefully is fun to play
Refine that until it’s really compelling and slowly add stuff from there
It’s not exactly profound by any measure, it’s just hard =)
