Ottawa vows changes to Bill C-22 encryption provisions (opens in new tab)

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said Ottawa will amend Bill C-22, the federal lawful-access bill, to clarify that authorities cannot use it to breach encryption and to narrow provisions on metadata and data retention.
