Helios quantum computer reaches 98 trapped-ion qubits (opens in new tab)
Researchers announced results for Helios, a 98-qubit trapped-ion quantum computer reported to have all-to-all connectivity and one- and two-qubit operation fidelity above 99.9%. Phys.org said the work is part of a public-private partnership in the Mountain West aimed at the U.S. Department of Energy goal of building fault-tolerant quantum computers large and reliable enough to solve complex problems.
