Excessive energy consumption is widely regarded as the biggest problem with drones and other small flying vehicles. Batteries can only store so much power, which significantly limits the flight time of aerial vehicles. Increasing battery capacity is no solution either—that increases the weight of the aerial vehicle, which again limits flight time.
