sigh….The thing I was worried about happening, happened. While tapping the tails home with a mallet it split from the base of the tail outward to the cutout. Forced glue into the split and clamped it. I’ll be putting this facing the back. I’ve noticed in the past with case hardened stock that it splits along the grain easily. I got lucky with only one hiccup to deal with.hmm…..The ends are short and I was thinking of skipping bearers there. The bearers are set down from the top of the base a 1/8“. snea
