Giza will offer a strange out of this world sight on August 2 2027 when the longest solar eclipse in a century darkens the plateau and draws a quiet line between The Grand Pyramid and a sky falling into twilight. The sun will narrow to a rim of fire before the moon settles into totality farther south near Luxor and Aswan yet the view from Giza will hold its own wonder as the monument rises against an altered horizon. Travelers will walk from the bright new galleries of the Grand Egyptian Museum into a moment shaped by shadow and memory and the meeting of light and stone will feel both cosmic and ancient.
