Many of the most exciting Python tools seem to have something in common: they not so secretly rely on a lot of Rust. For this interview, I talked to Adrian Garcia Badaracco and Peter Lesty of Pydantic. Pydantic is an extremely popular type validation library for Python, but it’s also the name of the company behind the fast-growing observability platform Logfire. We talked about the Rust-accelerated Python trend, how Pydantic is using Rust to build a high performance query engine for Logfire, what it’s like working at Pydantic, and more. To see jobs available at this and other cool rust companies, check out our extensive rust job board.
