Your time does not belong to you. It belongs to what you give it to. You are only a steward, a conduit moving time from one place to another.
Worship, the act of giving your time back to God, is the centre of stewardship. It is Him who gives it, His to do with as he wants. It is for us to invest God’s time wisely.

Singing praise is an exceptional, a frivolous way to spend it. The best use of time that will never be seen again. The return is in the change in our hearts as we draw near to Him.
Work is a good use of time. Giving yourself fully to the work you are appointed, in the right times, is worship. Committing too much time to work - more than is appropriate in line with your other priorities and responsibilities - is a poor investment.
Art is a good investment. If it is shared to inspire and direct others towards God, especially so. To prompt thought and discussion is the ultimate goal of art, and the greatest good is if those thoughts are towards God. Time creating art of any form is well spent, whether it is the honing of ones’ craft or the production of works which will be shared.
Service to others - caring for those in need - is a gift of time to those who are not in control of how they spend their own, and cannot choose to use it for the things they need. In gifting your time this way, you reciprocate what God has given you, paying forwards the gift which can never be repaid.
All of these investments are meaningful. Acts of worship to the one who gave you time in the first place.
Conversely, the world is full of means by which to waste time. The world is bent on hooking you into frittering away your time. The screen in your pocket is a sink for you to drain your time into, for returns you will never see. None of the gains from time poured into that screen are your own. None of them are God’s. None of them are worship.
