I…am starting a new project. A huge one. A tarot project. But I’m world building in the process. I’m using this opportunity to develop characters for an IP that I’ve been working on in the background. It’s a great way for me to do something public-facing while I stack my work and develop my little world in private.

I’m starting with the Major Arcana, with card 0 – The Fool. The character I chose for The Fool is Kyra, the daughter of my main characters.

The Fool card is supposed to represent a naive call to adventure, usually alongside an animal companion that’s trying to keep the adventuring soul safe. I figured a child setting out on a journey with her (very obese) bobtail cat would be a great representation of this character and card. 🙂

I’m not offering prints of this piece, as I have a feeling I’ll revisit and refine it as I near the end of The Major Arcana. I’m really trying to figure out a good process that lets me produce work quickly and of a standard quality (finding a style). So I fully expect to evolve and revisit earlier pieces as I go through this project.

(I have a script that removes duplicate frames, so this is much faster than I actually worked, but each stroke is recorded in real-time)

A little bit of news…

We’re hosting a flash event this upcoming Sunday (December 14th) at Affinity! Each one of us is doing something a little bit different. You can check out the details here.
