The irony that I’m learning bearblog in an attempt to simplify my digital life is not lost on me. And so far, like so many other platforms, the first thing I do is try and push the limits rather than focus on content - how the hell do I add tags to posts…. Clearly pushing limits is subjective.
Being a Wordpress user for decades for various jobs and purposes - I’m comfortable there. Recently though, I’ve felt the pull towards simplicity. Recently I said goodbye to adobe and hello to stripped down editors like Liit. I’ve also taken a break from Ableton live and said hello to both Ableton move and note. But what about social media? I’m not sure I could say goodbye - not yet anyways. Here’s where bear blog might help. 🤞
I want a space to collect and share my interests, ideally, with no one! There’s no follower count, likes count, or any of the algorithmic motivators or distractors that social media has become. But if I want to share thoughts, I can easily spit something out as a link to a bear blog post on iMessage. I also miss writing without AI. It’s become a common tool I use at work to get through the monotony - but writing for pleasure is something I hope I never give up. Anyways, I could ramble on about the million and a half reasons bear blog is fantastic, but I’ll stop here and say…
To add tags to a post simply type tags: followed by a comma separated list under your title. Careful - you need to use lowercase. This is where I went wrong - though, I guess it doesn’t really matter. No one’s going to read this anyways. ☺️
