I like to imagine what DJ Shadow or Girl Talk would have done with the technology in their day. I find for traditional boom bap hip hop, part of the sound relies on the technology of the time and separated stems dont lend well to the genre. I have a lot of fun just beat matching songs separating stems and mixing parts of different song together. Really fun.
