Today, I just wanted to show my appreciation and give thanks.
I genuinely don’t have any expectations or goals when I post on this site.
The only guiding principle is to write what I feel I wanted or needed to read today. Or about something I found interesting, enlightening, or entertaining. Something that felt good or resonated in some positive way.
Because if it did, there’s a chance that someone wandering to my site might experience similar things.

But despite that, or rather, because of that, it feels truly special whenever I get positive feedback from someone.
I appreciate every like since I assume the readers experienced something positive. The numbers might not seem that impressive for some, but for me, tens of people (from around the world) reading something I wrote feels great. Having multiple people enjoy what they read feels unreal.
Yet, it gets better.
Earlier this week I received an email from someone who read my post, saying it was "refreshing and uplifting." Someone actually taking the time to say such positive things? Now that’s awesome. I think the world needs more of that. I’ll certainly want to do more of that myself.
Later (today, actually), I noticed that Requiem mentioned my writing in the post "Mirror, Mirror." (By the way, the site and blog are awesome and inspiring, so definitely check them out.) Anyway, seeing that just felt so humbling and surreal, in the best of ways.
Although these kinds of things are not the reason I do this, still, they make me feel warm and happy inside. They make me want to write even more.
They also remind me why I love personal websites / (micro)blogging as a format. The numbers and volumes of interactions might be fewer compared to social media or other platforms — but their impact can be so much higher.
We may not have figured out unlimited energy yet.
But positivity comes pretty damn close.
Thanks for the positivity. Keep giving it forward.
