Russia once again attacked Ukraine during the night of December 8, deploying 149 drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the enemy UAVs, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

According to the military, from 18:00 on December 7 until the morning of December 8, the enemy attacked with 149 strike drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as UAVs for other kinds, launching them from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo in Russia, as well as Donetsk and Chauda in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. About 90 of them were Shaheds.

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 131 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, and other UAVs over the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Sixteen strike drones hit 11 locations, and debris from downed UAVs fell in four locations.

"The attack continues. Several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.

Attacks on Ukraine

During the night, Russian forces again struck the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones and artillery. Residential buildings were damaged, there is one fatality and several injuries, including two children.

Russia also carried out a series of strikes with attack drones on residential areas of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region.

Drones hit a nine-story apartment building, causing fires on floors two through five.

In Chernihiv, a drone exploded near a residential building overnight, blowing out windows, sparking a fire, and injuring civilians.
