Jack Miller will welcome Toprak Razgatlioglu to Pramac Yamaha in 2026 as the three-time World Superbike champion debuts in MotoGP, yet it could spell bad news for him.
Miller survived the threat of Yamaha signing Razgatlioglu kicking him off the MotoGP grid in 2026, as the Japanese manufacturer ultimately opted to retain the Australian to partner the Turkish star. Yamaha instead released Miguel Oliveira to create a spot in the Pramac line-up.
Razgatlioglu’s arrival in MotoGP threatened Miller’s future as the 30-year-old was due to be out of contract at the end of 2025. Yamaha re-committed to Miller this September, but only gave him another one-year deal to ride for Pramac and to also help develop their V4 engine.
Yamaha need Miller’s help to develop a V4 engine as he is their only rider who has previous experience of a V4 MotoGP engine from his days with Honda, Ducati and KTM. Yamaha will switch from an inline four engine to a V4 in the last year of the current 1,000cc regulations.

Toprak Razgatlioglu could end Jack Miller’s MotoGP career in Qatar, Spain and France in 2026
But Miller has to impress on the track in the 2026 MotoGP season to convince Yamaha or a rival outfit to offer him a ride for the 850cc regulations era from 2027. Miller will also know that Razgatlioglu outperforming him in his first few races as a rookie will not be a good look.

Razgatlioglu expects to replicate Nicolo Bulega’s initial MotoGP results, having seen his now-former WSBK rival finish P15 in Portugal and Valencia while standing in for Marc Marquez at the end of 2025. Razgatlioglu beat Bulega to lift the 2025 World Superbike title by 13 points.
Moving to MotoGP with Pramac in 2026 poses a huge challenge for Razgatlioglu, as he must learn a very different bike and Michelin tyres. So, if Razgatlioglu is already beating Miller by the time that MotoGP visits Lusail, Jerez and Le Mans in 2026, then his career could be over.
Jack Miller has struggled in Qatar, Spain and France over the past three seasons
MotoGP is due to stage the Qatar Grand Prix in round four of the 2026 season, followed by the Spanish Grand Prix in round five and French Grand Prix in round six. The races have not been too kind to Miller in recent years and they may now prove costly to his career in 2026.

Miller secured a P3 result during the 2023 Spanish GP at Jerez after joining the factory KTM team after his release from Ducati. But he did not finish at Jerez in 2024 or 2025, and he has not finished higher than P9 in Qatar since 2023 or even finished a race in France since 2022.
Vibrations from the rear of Miller’s Yamaha M1 caused the Pramac rider to crash on Lap 9 of the 2025 Qatar GP. A mechanical failure also forced Miller to retire while P11 during the 2025 Spanish GP. But his biggest disappointment after joining Pramac in 2025 came at Le Mans.
Miller crashed out of the 2025 French GP when he had the chance to win at Le Mans, having led the group of riders who stayed on wet tyres at the start while others pitted. LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco won the 2025 French GP after being several seconds behind when Miller fell.
His highside marked Miller’s third race-ending crash at Le Mans over the last three years. He even endured a double DNF at Le Mans with KTM in 2023, having crashed during the Sprint Race and in the French GP while fighting for a top-six finish. He crashed out of P12 in 2024.
If Miller suffers further misery in Qatar, Spain and France in 2026 and Razgatlioglu is able to outperform the Australian so soon into his rookie MotoGP season, then the former’s career in the premier class might come to an end after 12 years when his Yamaha contract expires.
