I’ve been thinking the past few days... it’s not burnout.
BTW - my posts are sometimes just me thinking out loud. I don’t even know what I’m writing about until I start. When done, I add a title based on what I wrote.
I could always control burnout by simply changing my view... my mind had control over burnout.
So I managed it mentally to be able to keep pushing forward.
I could "defeat it" for a time, but after 12 to 18 months the burnout returned even stronger.
Although they are similar, burnout and being just plain worn-out are not the same things.
By the time I freed myself from the job and did everything needed to leave the USA and move overseas...
I was just plain worn-out. I was exhausted mentally and physically.

By the time I freed myself from the job and did everything needed to leave the USA and move overseas...
I was just plain worn-out. I was exhausted mentally and physically.
And I viewed it as still being on the same looooong road that started back in the USA, lasting years while I worked a demanding full-time job, continuing on for months in the USA after I left the job, then continuing on for months even overseas.
It was just fatigue. From always "getting there" but never actually BEING THERE at the point where it was all done.
And by done I mean so I could focus on enjoying life.
It was being stuck at the job, and keeping a massive focus on continually reducing expenses, saving, investing, researching options overseas, for 8 years to achieve this.
It makes sense! It really did take an immense amount of sustained effort and focus to do this.
Glad I got that cleared up. 😂
I’m feeling chilled out now. 🙂
Yesterday, I made progress getting setup for game dev!
Previously, I made a 2D World Editor in PureBasic on Windows. And I also had made a Retro Sprite Editor in AppGameKit on Windows.
Using the Linux versions of PureBasic and AGK I was able to compile my source code and have my dev tools available for my Linux game dev!
"GameDev interest meter is now at 75%!" 😃
