When we launched Boom Brief #5, we asked for something a bit different: an alcohol-free gin called SILVA, inspired by forest botanicals and the quiet power of nature. We wanted designers to move beyond the usual wellness clichés and create something that felt genuinely restorative yet aspirational. Something grounded, sophisticated and quietly confident.
We asked you, in short, to imagine a premium spirit for those who crave connection and calm. And once again, you delivered.
What struck us most about the entries was how deeply personal each interpretation felt. Every designer seemed to tap into their own relationship with nature, mindfulness and the idea of slowness; translating those intangible feelings into visual identities that rang…

What struck us most about the entries was how deeply personal each interpretation felt. Every designer seemed to tap into their own relationship with nature, mindfulness and the idea of slowness; translating those intangible feelings into visual identities that ranged from mystical and ancient to contemporary and energetic.
Standout approaches
Kseniya Matusevich approached the brief by embracing what she calls "the natural chaos of the forest." Starting with watercolour paints and letting her hand move freely across paper, she created organic brush strokes that eventually evolved into elegant, overlapping wave forms. Her label design layers these stem-like waves atop the SILVA wordmark in deep green and glowing mint—a combination that creates an almost luminous effect.
The choice of Instrument Serif paired with Epilogue feels effortlessly sophisticated, whilst the strategic cuts in the text where stems intersect add a lovely sense of organic integration. "I like to follow my intuition while working on a project," Kseniya explains, and you can feel that instinctive quality throughout her work.

Stavroula Adamopoulou returned to our briefs with another conceptually rich entry, drawing inspiration directly from the name Silva, which means ‘forest’ in Latin. Her logo is beautifully symbolic: an eye representing mindfulness and presence, topped with a tree-like double drop shape that speaks to distillation and purity. But what really elevates her concept is the character illustration; a mascot wrapped in oversized, simplified botanicals, captured in a moment of "dynamic calm".
The colour palette is particularly thoughtful, too: charcoal grounds the design, light grey keeps things airy and quiet, whilst strategic pops of yellow on the character’s top and bottle seal bring that vibrant botanical energy. It’s mystical yet contemporary, ancient yet completely fresh.

Aleks Ksiazkiewicz, meanwhile, created something wonderfully tactile and hand-crafted, drawing direct inspiration from living near woodlands. Her approach centres on imperfect organic illustrations inspired by natural forms, creating a gentle flow of movement across the label design. "The aim for Silva was to create an organic brand that entailed an authentic, hand-made look, with a touch of modernism," she notes.
The ragged, organic shapes are perfectly balanced by her choice of Hepta Slab, a modern slab serif that brings sophistication without snobbery. Her colour palette is particularly striking: a primary lime yellow that brings the passion and brightness of citrus, grounded by mossy and muted greens.
Aleks stresses that her process is entirely AI-free, with every element carefully crafted by hand—a fitting approach for a brand built around authenticity and connection to nature.
