The Woolwich block is estimated to have been built around 1945 according to a council see report and will have a rooftop addition. A lot of buildings around here have been demolished so its welcome to see something a bit older retained, converted and extended while retaining its character.
It’s located equidistant between Woolwich Arsenal and Woolwich Dockyard station. Woolwich Dockyard is in Zone 3 rather than Zone 4 so if heading to, say, London Bridge then tickets will be cheaper.
Alongside a two-storey rooftop extension a small addition is to be built to the rear.
The building sits opposite Woolwich Barracks which is set to see conversion into almost 2,000 homes when the Ministry of Defence vacate much of the site.
