Woolwich block flat conversion approved

Plans to convert a building near Woolwich town centre from commercial use into 17 flats have been approved.

The building at 48-50 Artillery Place has sat unused for many years. Greenwich’s off-shoot developer Meridian Homestart will now convert the structure into housing.

Architects are RM_A who are also behind plans by Bexley Council’s developer BexleyCo for 70 homes in Bexleyheath covered last week.

Tenure

That site had just ten per cent affordable housing. The Woolwich scheme sees no council housing with all at rent levels around two thirds of the market rate.
