Plaud’s tiny and powerful voice recorders are a gamechanger, with writer Brian Westover calling its Note device "the best AI hardware product I’ve used" in his hands-on last year. The company continues to iterate on both software and hardware, and CES sees the debut of the new NotePin S, a wearable microphone featuring transcription in 112 languages, detailed AI-powered summaries, and serious battery life. The NotePin S now features a physical button that lets you start and stop recording as well as mark highlights.

We’re seeing a big swing away from shiny touchscreens to devices with a little more friction, and the Clicks Portable Keyboard is a great example. This keyboard case fits around the frame of your iPhone and slides out from the bottom, giving you a tactile typing experience with MagSafe connectivity. In our writeup, we were impressed by the customizable backlighting, the included built-in MagSafe battery pack, and stylish design. It’ll retail for $109, but Clicks is opening up pre-orders at just $79 for a limited time.

The pocket-sized DuRoBo Krono e-reader could be serious competition for Amazon’s Kindle thanks to a few compelling choices. With 128GB of storage (as compared to a typical e-reader’s 64GB or less), it’s more spacious, and the 300 ppi resolution HD display looks sharp but won’t lend itself well to gaming or endless social media scrolling like a normal tablet. Our tech writer Will Greenwald took the new XReal 1S AR smart glasses for a spin at CES, plugging them into his Nintendo Switch 2 to see how the company’s fascinating technology transforms 2D output into 3D visuals. In his rundown, he was impressed by the "compelling sense of depth" it gave numerous titles. You can also use it for movies, which was somewhat less successful, but future firmware updates will solve that issue. He also tested the XReal Neo, a combination battery pack and video adapter for Nintendo consoles to link with the glasses. The XReal 1S AR and Neo are on sale now at their website.
