In this post, I want to demonstrate how to use the Gemini CLI to troubleshoot Linux systems. As in my other posts, I am leveraging a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server as the conduit to the Linux platforms.

My primary goal was to build a robust Linux MCP server that was both safe and secure. I needed a solution that would strictly limit the tools allowed, preventing Gemini from hallucinating dangerous commands like rm -rf * or chaining operations together in risky ways. While I found several examples on GitHub, I thought this was the perfect use case to roll up my sleeves and build my own.
