Microsoft’s attempts to unify the handheld gaming experience across Windows-based handhelds have been a moderate success so far. Debuting on the Xbox ROG Ally devices, the Xbox Full-Screen Experience (FSE) has been slowly rolling out to other handhelds, and the latest in the batch is Lenovo’s Legion Go devices. We’re now seeing reports from users on Reddit showing it off in a new Legion Space update.

To be clear, Xbox FSE has been available on Legion Go for a while through both unofficial mods and semi-official support, and even now, this new update doesn’t natively install FSE as a launcher — instead, just the features surrounding it. The actual console-like UI still needs to be manually enabled in Windows settings first, running the 25H2 update (otherwise, you’ll need to be an Insider).

So, it’s essentially an optimization update that adds better FSE support if your Legion Go already had it. Previously, you had to open to Xbox app and enter the full-screen experience from there. With this new update, there’s now a toggle right inside Legion Space that will do that directly, streamlining the process.

Moreover, there’s also a new Legion Space widget in Xbox Game Bar, allowing you to toggle between thermal modes, vibration intensity, RGB effects, and more. It’s pretty basic compared to something like the community-run Xbox Gaming Bar widget, but it’s a start to a deeper, more integrated experience.

Some of the shortcuts have been remapped to follow Microsoft’s guidelines. A long press of the Legion R button will bring up the Task Switcher (Win + Tab), and you can toggle FSE by pressing Win + F11 as well. A single click will bring up the default Legion Space widget instead. When FSE is enabled, the device’s registry key is set to handheld to ensure available resources are used correctly.

Remember, the entire selling point of FSE, beyond the aesthetic change, is that it eliminates unnecessary background processes to boost performance. How much that actually translates into real-life improvements, well, that’s a different story. Legion Go device owners should see this new update when they open Legion Space, available on the Legion Go 1, Legion Go 2, and Legion Go S.
