Meta app contains unreleased smart-glasses face-recognition code (opens in new tab)

WIRED said it reviewed code in Meta's live Meta AI app and found an unreleased face-recognition system for Meta smart glasses, internally called "NameTag." The system is designed to identify people seen by the glasses' camera using biometric data stored on users' phones.
