Q. How has the current financial year been for your company BENTEC in terms of growth, operational performance, and expansion within the electrical and power sector?
FY 2025-26 has been a landmark year for Bentec India Limited, marked by robust growth driven by the rapid scale-up of our Smart Meters and Electrical Equipment portfolio in alignment with India’s accelerated RDSS, NSLP and grid-modernization programs.
Operationally, we established a state-of-the-art production automation facility at Faridabad (NCR) and strengthened our field deployment workforce and ecosystem, resulting in improved delivery timelines, enhanced product quality and reliable after-sales service support across multiple states. Alongside this, we expanded our presence in the wider electrical and power sector with design & deployment of Smart Solutions such as Smart Energy Meters & Switchgear, Switches, LED Lights and Wire Accessories, aligning with national digitalization initiatives. Our engagement with utilities and government bodies has deepened, supported by compliance-driven documentation and rapid deployments, while investments in scalable data management solutions have reinforced our long-term growth trajectory as an AMISP and TSP over the traditional OEM role of last three decades.
Furthermore, our BENLO brand has significantly widened opportunities in the secondary market by strengthening channel partnerships and executing projects across MES, Railways and Housing Societies on a PAN-India level. This expansion has not only diversified our market presence but also reinforced Bentec footprint in the electrical and power sector, positioning us for sustained growth and long-term expansion in the years ahead.
Q. What revenue trends or key product segments, such as Smart meters, switchgear, cables, power electronics or digital solutions have shown the strongest performance this year?
The strongest growth this year has come from our smart metering solutions with both single-phase and three-phase smart meters seeing high demand from AMISP’s as well as Utilities & Discom’s. Complementing this, our associated electrical products such as Switchgears (MCCB’s, MCB’s), LED lighting (Street/Flood lights), Switches, Distribution Boards, Wires accessories have provided a stable revenue base, helping Bentec position itself as a complete low-voltage electrical solutions providing organization. In addition, Digital Solutions around metering & switchgear including two ways communicating AMI- ompatible devices and supporting software tools steadily increasing their share of the business as utilities transition from conventional to smart and pre-paid architectures. Together, these segments have driven robust revenue momentum and reinforced Bentec role in India’s power sector modernization.
Q. What major technological innova tions or digital advancements (IoT, AI, automation, smart metering, smart grids, etc.) is your company focusing on to stay ahead in the evolving electrical market?
We, Bentec are actively investing in next-generation technologies to strengthen our leadership in the diversified electrical sector. Our focus areas include IoT-enabled smart solutions, AI-driven data analytics, automation in product manufacturing and field deployments to enhance efficiency and reliability in time bound manner. We focused on smart metering, communication and data-driven solutions that combine IoT connectivity, embedded intelligence and advanced & unique anti-tamper features to support modern AMI solution. Our 1Ph and 3Ph smart meters supports multiple communication technologies like RF, 4G, NB-IoT, Bluetooth for WAN/NAN/HAN integration, enabling real-time monitoring, remote disconnection/ reconnection and detailed analytics for utilities and end consumers/ prosumers. We are also investing in digital platforms and mobile applications around meter installation, consumer survey and lifecycle management such as its smart energy CSMI tools to streamline deployment and field operations.
We have also developed Smart LED Streetlights that operate on astronomical dusk-to-dawn timing and automatically switch ON-OFF in cloudy weather. It is further integrated with solar solutions and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) enabled micro-storage principles as required to ensure uninterrupted service by charging during the daytime and remained ON throughout the night.
Simultaneously we are almost on mass release of Smart MCCB’s that enable remote monitoring and control of high-end LTCT consumers or DTs through Smart Meters, providing centralized alerts and notifications for prompt action and resolution in-case of Tripping or OFF condition. These innovations are aligned with the objectives & requirements of municipalities and Discoms in achieving energy efficiency, sustainability and reliable public infrastructure under a unified smart energy ecosystem.
Q. How is your company contributing to India’s push for grid modernization, energy efficiency, and improved power infrastructure?
We are offering a unified ecosystem with assorted range of Smart Meters, Smart MCCBs, and Smart LED Streetlights. Our smart metering portfolio directly supports the RDSS program through accurate measurement, tamper detection & alerts, real-time data communication and AMI solutions that enable utilities to implement time-of-day (ToD) tariffs, remote monitoring and faster outage detection that is a critical building blocks for a modern digital grid. These capabilities improve billing integrity, strengthen consumer trust, transparency and enhance demand monitoring & management, thereby reducing losses and supporting reliable power delivery to end consumers/prosumers.
Our LT electrical products (MCCBs) enhance network & consumer safety, power quality & reliability across residential, commercial and industrial installations, contributing to the overall strengthening of India’s power infrastructure. Our Smart MCCBs extend functionality by enabling remote monitoring and control of high-end LTCT consumers and distribution transformers with centralized alerts and notifications ensuring prompt resolution of overloads, faults or abnormalities immediately as occurred.
This integration supports utilities in proactive demand-side management, improved operational resilience as well as overall revenue growth with reduced breakdown time. Our Smart LED Streetlights integrated with solar
systems and BESS-enabled micro-storage align with the National Street Light Program (NLSP) to deliver uninterrupted illumination, reduce grid dependency, lower carbon footprint and energy saving. Together, these innovations form a scalable smart energy infrastructure that enhances operational efficiency, supports sustainability goals and advances India’s transition toward modernized, resilient and citizen-centric power systems.
Q. What is your long-term vision for strengthening your company’s leadership in the electrical industry amidst rapid technological change and increasing demand for sustainable and reliable power systems?
To leverage our three decades of experience in metering and electrical equipment design & manufacturing, our long-term vision is to establish Bentec as a future-ready leader in the electrical industry by creating a sustainable, digitally empowered ecosystem that addresses India’s evolving energy needs. We are advancing smart technologies across metering, switchgear and streetlighting segment. We are integrating AMI enabled metering, IoT-based communication & monitoring and micro-BESS-supported renewable systems to drive digital transformation, minimize losses, enhance safety and enable proactive demand management. With strong manufacturing capabilities, PAN-India presence, project execution as an AMISP and continuous investments in R&D, we aim to remain ahead of rapid technological shifts in line with national current priorities such as RDSS and the NSLP.
