(forgive me, i don’t know much about this stuff)
okay so, my wifi modem is all the way across the house from my PC so the wifi i receive is terribly slow and i like to play video games that require fast wifi. the wifi i do receive is like 52 kbps (ik.)
i originally had a wifi extender with AT&T that worked perfectly for me. it was in my bedroom and simply connected to my PC and playstation via ethernet. but due to me renting a house and not owning, our renting company made us switch from individual service to getting wifi service from them (a bulk account). which sucked cause now i’m wifi extender from them just doesn’t work.

THEN i purchased a Deco AXE5400 and attempted to set that up. i connected the main Deco to the modem with no problems but when i went to sent the one that was going on my room up, it just didn’t detect it? im not sure if it was defective or it was user error. i would plug the Deco in, the light would be light green. i searched it up and it said that it meant it was already connected to something. when i tried to push the reset pin, the light would turn purple. it was just a bunch of back and forth of me unplugging, resetting and getting the same results.
so to wrap this up, i have a million questions. 1. should i just return the Deco and purchase something else? Or is there a way to fix it? 2. is what a need a wifi extender or some kinda of ethernet plug in? (i literally am so clueless when it comes to these kinds of things) 3. if i do need to repurchase something else, what would be the best to buy within $120
please help a gal out, i miss playing video games :(
edit: please feel free to message me privately if this is something that needs to be discussed in more detail
