At least a couple times a week (most recently about 40 minutes ago ) I feel like a spot of lunch and I look around and see a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese and all manner of high-end noodles from Singapore and David Chang’s Momofuku and their ilk.

Then I think about how I’ll have to get a pot and measure out water and open envelopes and packets and dump them into a bowl and stand at the stove stirring from time to time for 5-10 minutes before lunch is served.

And then I consider that I’ll have to scrub the pot and bowl at some point.

All that’s boring and a pain in the butt.
