Week Notes 50, 2025

Yep, a moderately exciting week I guess.

Coding/Tech

I finally did the wipe. My Ansible solution was fine-ish. Dealing with yay caused the biggest issues (and also some unexpected clashing packages). The biggest issue right now is now that I chose KDE after years of GNOME and XFCE. It has some weird issues (albeit one was caused by the EndeavourOS installer). Ah well
More coding ideas, with at least 1 (one) started
I need to fix my Voyager layout again
Homelab is sitting dormant for now, I need to plan the SSO and exit …

Honestly, nothing special this week. Came across Envy and yeah Japanese screamo is mostly pretty good.
I did spend a bunch of time listening to So Hideous’s None But a Pure Heart Can Sing and I still wish they’d make new music

One Piece. We’re just before Marineford and our memories of what’s been going on has been completely wrong. That’s been kinda fun to learn
Spent Friday watching the Geoff Keighley Experience (The Game Awards) on-and-off. Meh
This was a neat little video about the genesis of the Japanese internet
This made me miss cycling in snow back in Oulu a bit

I did indeed survive the layoffs. So did my team. As did our business unit. Yay!
Not really looking forward to how the new structure will be though. Some spoilers involve replacing our entire CI/CD with something else to fit in with where our software will be. But that’s at least a month in the future

I ballooned one day by 2 WHOLE KILOs and then lost it 2 days later, which means I’m back in the 171kg range
A new gym is opening nearby and I’m thinking of joining because, well, I need to

I took Wednesday off and went and collected a bunch of packages. They were mostly Kickstarter’s I had backed and forgotten about and will never touch (they are TTRPGs)
I’m experimenting with physical journals again because I just put notes in too many places. Shame about the handwriting though
