I’ve been getting back into sketching again, and with enough of my art now on SV getting thankfully more likes than I anticipated, I thought it was about time it got its own thread.
While I’ll be using this thread to compile my art that I’ve posted elsewhere on SV, I’d like to start off with a little something I haven’t posted to the forums before. Here’s my versions of the Norns or Nornir from Norse mythology for a project of mine named Verthandi in the Middle. Left to Right: Urðr, Verðandi, Skuld.

Edit: You…

Urth of the Past makes me think of Mary Poppins. What was the inspiration for the outfit?

I actually wasn’t thinking of Mary Poppins at the time (despite having read all the books), but it’s interesting you’d point that out since there is overlap between their personalities, Urth being the strictest. Though I did use Cogita from Pokémon Legends Arceus as a reference. The jellyfish-like cloche hat was mostly on a whim.
Speaking of references, I was gonna link them earlier, but it was getting late where I live. This was my reference for the Norns’ poses and objects in the group pic. Urth’s orange hair was taken from this, with me colouring her hat and cape blue for contrast. This was a main reference for Skuld after searching ‘goth punk girl outfit’, the leather jacket slipping down the shoulder coming from another image in the same search.
I’m having trouble relocating the reference I used for Verthandi, will update when I find it again
Edit: Found it, it’sspecifically the second image, you can tell from the collar tug. Though obviously Verth’s less glamorous looking

Crossposting my A Little Vice fanart, starting with the group shot I drew of Inessa, Ida, and Temperance:
Another sketch of Inessa, Ida, and Temperance. Started on this before the last chapter was posted, which made me then feel bad about not having room for Chiro, so I drew a little bat to compensate. I felt their poses were too static, so I drew them standing for a yearbook photo to make the basic poses more diegetic. While they’re still mostly based on Snowe’s designs, I did add a few extra details like Inessa’s arrow-patterned trousers, Ida wearing shorts and fingerless gloves, and Temperance’s scale-pattern dress

Now my take on ALV’s Avaritia Wolf. In hindsight, arm lengths are a bit uneven, as I was trying to go for one arm being further back than the other:
Thought to put them in a business suit because of eir sin, but I figured a mob-style pinstripe suit would suit eir personality better. Those wolf-head epaulets are also meant to allude to Cerberus. You could say the briefcase contains Resin or even a Seed

These are all very cute and well-designed. I particularly like the depictions of past and future through their different fashion choice.
Compiling my art for my quest Fool Bloom today. I do plan to redraw Miyako specifically sometime in the future:

Another sketch I did of Koyomi in Black Rose form, I’d say it does a good job capturing the ‘dark author’ vibe. In hindsight, her quill-sword could be bigger, and her white hairstreak is a bit hard to make out. The bookcase is undetailed, but it’s not the focus here and is more there for scene setting and height comparison

Bottom left is her artsona. Her left arm’s at an awkward angle, but since she’s a mangaka that’s sadly fitting

Emi Daimon pic. She in prison what with the bars on the wall? Sort of has the feel of The Count of Monte Cristo. Like she’s a noble put in jail due to a dastardly plot seeking to claim her lands and/or wealth via a false inheritance/last will

Actually, she’s just in a basement with a slot for light. Though the character was in a cult once

Cult? Sounds interesting. What sort of cult? Demonic, eldritch, necromantic, etc...

It’s all there in Fool Bloom, but in short I’d say necromantic out of those three
Now crossposting the art for my *Doctor Who *fan-season. A more stylised sketch with inspiration from the art of Okage: Shadow King. Doctor on the left and Lavinia on the right:

My fan incarnation of The Rani. Wanted a cross between 19th-century science adventurer and butch mechanic. That’s a steam screwdriver in her hand:

I originally had a more Gothic design in mind for the TARDIS, but it evolved into more of a cross between Art Nouveau (e.g., the railings) and a Shinto shrine (the Time Rotor, the doors at the back), both to emphasise the TARDIS being organic. Still kinda gothic though:
