There are two messages being sent by the current administration.
First, that we are at the end of the poem, and they want everyone to know it.
Second, that the Party is going to, voluntarily, show you video that contradicts what they are claiming, and say that it supports their position… and then expect you to go along with it.

Right-wingers latched onto the newly published video as “proof” that the ICE agent was justified in killing Good, though nothing about the footage suggests she was trying to hit the federal officer. The video was quoted-tweeted by Vice President Vance, DHS, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shortly after its publication on X.
This is not a mistake. This is on purpose.
This is indoctrination.
This is a loyalty test.
This is the Party wanting to make you complicit.
Choose the Party over your own eyes. Choose the Party line, even though the Party itself is showing you things that contradict it.
And if you deny reality, if you simply do not challenge the Party line even though you see clearly that it is a lie… then you are choosing complicity. To quote Wake Up, Dead Man:
This is not the true church.
You ask even the most hardcore of those in the pews, they’ll say, no, of course this is not what they believe. It’s [Monsignor] Wicks being Wicks, pushing it too far. And what he’s pushing for every time is a walkout.
Why does he do this? Because when that person walks out, everyone watches. And even if in the light of day it’s indefensible, deep down in the dark, it scratches an itch.
And by staying put in that pew, a side is taken. Wicks’ side. Testing tolerances, tapping deep poisoned wells, hardening, binding with complicity.
The murders of Renee Good in Minnesota and the pair in Portland this week are murders. (Side note: Even if they are not outright lying about the two in Portland, “connected to a gang” is a phrase that has been stretched to meaninglessness by law enforcement in the US.)
The Party’s blatant lies are not ignorance, or even trying to escape blame.
They are about choosing the Party’s delusions over reality. About making you feel complicit and more likely to go along with their lies.
With their murdering of innocents.
Fuck. That.
