A Daggerheart-Compatible One-Shot Adventure
The Weeping Rift is a community-made, third-party one-shot adventure compatible with Daggerheart™. It offers a atleast 2–5 hour playing experience focused on moral tension and player-driven solutions with some twists rather than scripted outcomes.
This adventure was playtested multiple times in in-person tabletop sessions. Based on these runs, story arcs and key narrative elements were refined and adjusted to ensure a smooth and engaging one-shot experience. The sessions were played with 2 and 3 players.
Set in an flying prison - The Weeping Rift - the players will be thrown into an non-ordinary prison. This place is used as a refuse pit for the wealthy and politically powerful. Corruption and death waits arround every corner. "Accidents" are prown to happen and the players will have to survive in such rough surroundings. The characters and story plots are made to be engaging but manageable to have an meaningfull and fun One Shot Adventure, ready for your own story to be written.
This is not a railroaded adventure and might be difficult to lead for first-time dungeon masters. The scenario is built to react to player decisions, encouraging creative problem-solving, negotiation and risk-takingt. Combat is possible, but not the only means to escape. There are multiple pre defined escape routes that differ in approach and is made to be playable in a One Shot session without having a boring and meaningless story.
What the Game Master Can Expect

A flexible narrative framework that supports improvisation
-
Combats that are prepared to be balanced for 2 to 4 players
-
Thematic guidance instead of fixed scene order
-
Clear motivations, factions, and pressures that move independently of the party
-
Tools to adapt pacing and tone to fit a single session
The adventure is written to be easy to run, but may be challenging for newer Game Masters if you do not feel comfortable to improvise and tell a story. The focus fits the style of Daggerheart™ to be mainly story and roleplay focused.

Authors Note
This adventure was written and developed for my own in-person tabletop group as a way to explore and test Daggerheart™ at the table. After several successful play sessions, I decided to refine the scenario and adapt it into a complete one-shot adventure that could be shared with the wider community.
My goal was to create a one-shot that respects the narrative focus of Daggerheart™. Meaningful characters, strong atmosphere, and situations that invite player-driven solutions rather than fixed outcomes. Given the system’s youth, the adventure was intentionally designed to be manageable within a single session while still offering depth, tension, and memorable moments.
