These last few years, and 2025 in particular, seem to have been a period of great change. Globally, of course, but, personally, I’ve felt my inner world shift and transform. Not just once but over and over.
As we approach the end of 2025, it’s happening again. I’m being nudged to declutter, let go, pare back, and minimise. Despite my love of tech, the analogue world is calling and I’m more mindful of the tools I use and how I spend my time online. I don’t seem to be alone in this as more and more people talk about going offline, getting dumb phones, signing off various platforms, using notebooks and making things. There is an undercurrent of change lapping at the shore.
I began this year enthused about writing. I didn’t actually write much. I set up a few blogs and then let them languish. I may allow a couple of associated domain names to lapse and merge blogs together. I don’t know why I need so many but, in my head, they each have a distinct purpose.
The rapid pace of change has made much of my old writing obsolete so I’ve archived it all and will start afresh. As the year ends, I’m not the same person who started 2025. I’m realigning in ways that are not yet clear and walking a path that I could never have predicted. As I always say, everything happens for a reason and I’ve no doubt that remains true.
