Hello, I'm Ryan

I am a Software Development Manager at a publicly traded company by day, and an experimental builder by night.

For a long time, I’ve kept my projects and thoughts tucked away in private repositories and local folders. This blog is my effort to change that—to "get more out there" and share the lessons I’ve learned from leading teams and building software.

What I Do

In my professional life, I am deeply passionate about Operational Excellence. I believe that building a feature is only half the battle; the real craft lies in how we monitor, maintain, and scale that feature in a production environment.

What I’m Building

Away from my day job, I dive into side projects that spark my interests and half-baked business ideas. I’m currently exploring:

Video Game Development: Experimenting with game design ideas in Godot.

Web App Experiments: Small-scale ideas where I can test new frameworks or deployment strategies.

Why This Blog?

The goal of this site is to share more ideas. Building software is hard and I've always found that talking through it helps all of us get better at the process.

What else?

Outside of software-oriented projects I also am a hobby photographer, birder, and improv comedy performer. I do find these topics tend to leak into my day-to-day and I may even write about them.
