One of the best parts about doing this challenge everyday has been having the space to really think out loud. The end of the year is always kind of an overwhelming rush to the finish line so any lingering thoughts I don’t actively sit down to process get swept into the trash only to resurface in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping.

One of the best parts about doing this challenge everyday has been having the space to really think out loud. The end of the year is always kind of an overwhelming rush to the finish line so any lingering thoughts I don’t actively sit down to process get swept into the trash only to resurface in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping.
So instead of putting it off, today I decided to jot down a couple of questions about the goals I say I want to accomplish. It’s not a step I normally take when setting goals because I’m usually too preoccupied with trying to brush the old year under the rug as fast as possible. But this year I genuinely had a wonderful time and don’t want to forget or erase anything about how it shaped up. So to spend this time reflecting instead of quickly moving on, here are the questions I’m asking.
- Why do I want to do this?
- Why does it matter?
- What improves if I accomplish this goal?
- What do I need to change or keep to same in order to reach this goal?
These questions are going to be my guide as I start outlining the types of things I hope to get done next year. Additionally, I’m starting to think a little deeper(I know, I know. This chick is ALWAYS thinking deeply about something) about framing my goals in a grand scheme of the person I want to become instead of just checking things off a list for the year. I’ve got some more words on that for another post, but for today I’ll leave it here.
Happy Friday! See you tomorrow!
