Following yesterday’s post about what has changed and what hasn’t since I last talked about my favorite tools nine months ago, I wanted to follow up today to talk about the analogue tools I’ve been loving and using lately.
What’s still the same:
Pilot G6 Gel pen - Still my every day pen. I use it to take notes at work and to write in all my notebooks. I’ve since bought back refills because I’ve convinced myself that if I somehow lost all of my other pens, I could still exist as long as I had this one.
Zebra Mildliners - These are still my favorite highlighters. I’m currently looking for any reason at all to buy more in different colors.
What’s new:
Zebra bLen Gel pen - This is a very close second to my Pilot G6. The ink in this pen is so thick and creamy and when I get it on paper where it doesn’t skip, we’re a match made in heaven. I’ve noticed that the ink in this pen doesn’t really do great on tomoe river paper. But on literally anything else, it writes like a dream.
Uni-ball Signo 307 Gel pen - Noticing a theme yet? I’m a big fan of gel pens. This Signo is the only pen I write with in 0.5 nib because 0.7 just feels the best in every scenario. But when I’m writing tiny numbers or squeezing my chunky handwriting onto a note card, this pen helps me to do it legibly.
Kuretake ZIG Clean Color Dot double-side markers - Ah! These have become a surprisingly important part of my daily routine. The dot side of these markers create the most perfect rounded dots that make marking my habits, highlighting dates in my planner, and making colorful bullet points, very satisfying.
What I’m trying out:
- Tombow Dual Brush pens - I’m not artistically inclined but something in me always shifts every time I come across a colorfully decorated notebook and the creator lists the number associated with the Tombow brush they used. Right now all I’ve felt bold enough to do is draw a bunch of colorful ovals for the background for words and numbers. We’ll see if I actually end up doing something artistic with them.
What’s out:
- Traveler’s Notebook Passport size - I’m not sure what happened, but I think these are just too small for me right now. I’ve got a feeling they’ll make a comeback likely sometime early in the new year, it’s just not in my rotation right now.
If you’re curious about the notebooks I’m currently using, I wrote about it over here for Blogmas Day 10.
That’s it! As a bit of a note to myself, I wanted to mention that I plan on creating a page completely dedicated to my stationary collection because it seems to be an obsession that’s growing untamed and what’s more fun than documenting a descent into madness something you enjoy?
See you tomorrow!
