There will also be a range of events and activities taking place on July 31, Harry Potter’s birthday.
In addition, Warner Bros Studio Tour London will be running a special celebration of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone this summer, with iconic artefacts introduced in the first film from the Golden Snitch to the Philosopher’s Stone itself on display.
The original film was released in 2001, catapulting then-child stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint to fame. They were joined on screen by acclaimed British actors including Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman and Ralph Fiennes.
J.K. Rowling‘s seven-book series is receiving a new adaptation for TV taking place over a mammoth 10-year period, with one novel being the focus of each season beginning in early 2027. According to Warwick Davis, the adaptation will be “very faithful” to Rowling’s books.
The show has been mired in controversy due to Rowling receiving significant backlash for her anti-trans comments, and her support of the UK Supreme Court ruling last year that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex.
Meanwhile, fans have shared mixed reactions online after it was revealed that Hans Zimmer is set to compose the score for the season in contrast to the films’ iconic score by John Williams.
