Saturdays are for putting your hand in a bucket of ice, swallowing a mouthful of honey and lemon, and breathing a sigh of relief. All that practice you put into your welcome handshake and ‘Here comes trouble!’ paid off. Almost every member of the treehouse has been successfully greeted home.
All bar one. But I’ll get him. I’ll get him good.
But enough about my plans to corner and greet a colleague with extreme prejudice.

I’ll be trying out Far Far West, which looks - encouragingly - a bit like Deep Rock Galactic with cowpuncher robots instead of space dwarves. In verifying that description, I have just noticed that the robots can do magic as well. Sure, why not.

I’ve been gradually meandering through my first proper Crusader Kings 3 save since just before Christmas. The throne of Scotland currently belongs to the fourth generation of my dynasty thanks to some handy cousin murder. Will we get in a big fight with England, then lose all we’ve fought and shagged other royals for? Time will tell. Also, I might start a refresher run of Yakuza Kiwami 3 for reasons.
Edwin
This weekend I will be playing Pathologic 3 unless I decide it’s too depressing, or Terra Invicta unless I decide it’s too overwhelming. Hmm, perhaps I’ll try Rogue Flight. It’s a frenetic flight sim inspired by "the golden age of prestige anime". Certainly looks swish.
Callum
After such an intense welcome back to the Treehouse, Callum scuttled to his room to take refuge among the spiders and mice.

I’m packing everything up in our flat before moving next weekend. I don’t want to say I won’t play anything over the next 48 hours, but if I do it will likely be DuneCrawl, the game where you pilot a giant cannon-toting crap around a desert filled with pirates. I somehow had a whole section of games I’m looking forward to in 2026 focused on walking cities and didn’t realise there was something quite so up my street releasing in the first week of January.
Ollie
Over the holidays I ended up playing a couple of HOMM-ers quite a lot. Mostly Songs Of Silence, but with a little bit of Songs Of Conquest too. Unrelated games, surprisingly. Both are very good indeed, but I particularly love the little autobattles that play out in Silence. I’m working my way through the campaign at the moment, but I’ve realised that I’ve missed some well-hidden side-quests throughout the missions so I think I’ll start again - and I’ll turn the difficulty up a notch as well, just for fun!
Jeremy
Jeremy is still away. He thinks he can dodge my handshake. He’s wrong.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?
