Bottega Veneta CEO Bartolomeo Rongone, will exit the label as of March 31, Kering announced today. In a statement, Kering chief executive Luca de Meo said: “I would like to thank Leo Rongone for his leadership and for the significant contribution he has made to Bottega Veneta over the past six years. During his tenure, he achieved important milestones with his team and supported the continued development of the house. I wish him every success in his future professional endeavors.”
Rongone was appointed in 2019 and has steered the house through an intense period of change, from Daniel Lee’s surprise exit in 2021, to the appointment of Matthieu Blazy, and the subsequent appointment of current creative director Louise Trotter, when Blazy became creative director of Chanel in December 2024. Trotter’s debut show in September, rich in texture, was well received by critics. She will present her sophomore collection in February 2026.
Under Rongone’s tenure, Bottega Veneta has gone from a lesser-known, crafty label in Kering’s portfolio to one of the world’s most talked about brands. Brand revenues grew steadily, from €1.12 billion in 2019 to €1.7 billion in 2024. Most recently, in the third quarter of 2025, Bottega was a bright spot for Kering, with revenues up 3% as other brands faced losses.
The selection process for the next CEO of Bottega Veneta is underway and the appointment of the new CEO will be announced in the near future, Kering said in a statement.
Also noting that “the Bottega Veneta management team is fully committed, together with Kering, to continue to drive the positive momentum of the house.”
