Across her almost-36 years, 12 studio albums, countless tour dates, and pages of pap shots that document girls nights out to Chez Margaux and Zero Bond, Taylor Swift has established some pretty strict beauty codes: the orange-toned red lip, the maximalist manicure, a cat eye flick. Now, just days away from celebrating her birthday and firmly in festive mode, her most classic glam sensibilities prove perfect for the holidays.
Photographed last night (December 9) in New York, Swift was seen headed out for dinner with longtime friend Este Haim to the aforementioned members club Chez Margaux. In terms of style, it was all straight from the Taylor Swift School of Dressing: a black double face duffel coat from Louis Vuitton and L.V. knee-high black boots, an Alaïa ribbed wool turtleneck bodysuit and mini skirt, Sheertex glitter tights, and a black brushed leather Prada shoulder bag. It wouldn’t be a Swiftian fit without a trifecta of those big-name brands she loves, or Christmas in New York at all without some statement tights. (It’s Evermore season!) For jewelry, the pop star kept things minimal with a gold Louis Vuitton ring and her engagement ring from fiancé Travis Kelce.

Swift opted to wear her long blonde hair in loose and glossy waves thrown over one shoulder: she’s consistently kept it long and it now sits mid-back, with a thick set of bangs feathery across her eyebrows. She also wore a new burgundy colored manicure, and kept makeup surprise-free with a feline eyeliner flick and a muted red lip.
Este Haim, meanwhile, stuck to her own understated and polished sense of style in a navy wool coat, a black ruffled silk dress, and yellow-gold pumps. The Haim bassist wore her own blonde hair up in a high but relaxed ponytail.

Swift has a solid rotation of hairstyles (RIP, the chin-length blunt bob of 2016) that she won’t often stray from: a half-up half-down look, teeny-tiny braids through tousled waves, the sporadic appearance of a millennial-coded fishtail braid. She had a bit more fun with the Life of a Showgirl promo looks, including some ’40s style pin curls, a brunette box bob, and backcombed and crystal-studded hair.
But more often than not, she’ll stick to these classic and free-flowing tresses, hair that she’s put time and effort in to grow (with a little help from some expertly executed extensions for thickness and dimension, or so it looks like)—it’s a key tenet of that glossy pop star meets girl-next-door vibe she’s carefully crafted. It’s easily replicable too—just arm yourself with a good hair serum for smoothness and flyaways—for anyone fussing over their own hair this festive season.
It’s already been a busy, social week for Swift, who was spotted attending Kelce’s Chiefs game against the Houston Texans in the estimable company of two original girl squad pals: Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham. (Anyone else thinking this succession of G.N.Os might be Swift assembling her bridesmaids for her rumored June-set wedding?) The big beauty questions remain: Will she forgo her signature red lip on the day in favor of a blushing bridal rose tint? Will she opt for those country-bridal, by way of Evermore braids? We have months—and plenty more G.N.Os at New York’s dining hotspots—to speculate.
