For days, Reddit users on the New Jersey subreddit have been voting to determine which of the Garden State’s 21 counties is the best.

The casual competition, run by a Reddit user named u/Fragrant-Upstairs932, pitted each county against one another, removing one county each day until only one remained.

Hundreds of Reddit users chimed in on each post, commenting which county they thought should be eliminated next and why.

The competition, which has been going on since mid-November, came to a close over the weekend. Here’s a look at the results.

Which NJ county was the last one standing?

In the end, Middlesex County was the last county standing, though the results were variable.

On Dec. 6, the original poster initially determined that Morris County was the winner, writing, "Middlesex walked into a Krauszer’s and vanished. Morris wins! Thanks for participating!"

However, the comments begged to differ with numerous Redditors saying that Middlesex was clearly the leader of the pack.

The original poster opted to do a recount, with Middlesex County ultimately coming out on top.

"It depends on what you count as a vote - I only counted comments, not replies, and only very explicit statements in favor of one county - but overall, Middlesex seems to win!" reads the final post, to some people’s dismay.

While some Redditors were skeptical of the final result, many, presumably Middlesex residents, celebrated their win in the comments.

Ocean County: Eliminated as of Nov. 17.

Cumberland County: Eliminated as of Nov. 18.

Warren County: Eliminated as of Nov. 19.

Salem County: Eliminated as of Nov. 20.

Burlington County: Eliminated as of Nov. 21.

Sussex County: Eliminated as of Nov. 22.

Bergen County: Eliminated as of Nov. 23.

Somerset County: Eliminated as of Nov. 24.

Gloucester County: Eliminated as of Nov. 25.

Cape May County: Eliminated as of Nov. 26.

Hunterdon County: Eliminated as of Nov. 27.

Hudson County: Eliminated as of Nov. 28.

Atlantic County: Eliminated as of Nov. 29.
