1 Introduction

For long-term space-flight human explorations and for colonization of planets or satellites a constant and self-sustaining food supply is needed. Insects are already present in regular diets for billions of people and represent a sustainable food source (Omuse et al., 2024). The nutritional value of insects is extremely high.
