Publisher Another Indie and developer Sailike Game have announced the release date for Philna Fantasy. The pixel art RPG will be available on PC through Steam on January 15, 2026.

A New Fantasy Journey

Philna Fantasy is a pixel art action RPG that has been in development for five years. It tells the story of an adventurer hailing from another world. When this individual ends up in Votland, they have to start exploring the world around them and eventually face the shadows that are invading it.

There are four class options, each of which offers very different opportunities on the battlefield and unique build opportunities in their move patterns. The first choice is the Berserker, who, as the name hints at, is great at causing damage with devastating melee attacks.

Meanwhile, those who prefer to play from a safe distance may use the Ranger instead. They will use bows and arrows as their main weapon instead of Berserker’s trusty axe.

Another option with some range to their attacks is the Chrono Mage. Their specialty is using various spells to control the battlefield, affecting how the battle flows.

Finally, the Assassin strikes from the shadows, using a variety of moves to deal with enemies. The agility to move around the area, avoid attacks and strike the opponents down seems to be the most relevant asset for this class.

Each of those options comes along with its own skill tree for players to explore in depth. It’s possible to mix and match abilities, creating diverse builds for the player to explore. The release date trailer presents some of the main attactions of the gameplay.

Philna Fantasy offers four difficulty settings to choose from, making it so that players can adjust the combat challenge according to their preferences. According to the developers, the options will satisfy a wide range of people, who may be searching for just a casual experience or something more hardcore in its battles.

Altogether, there are nine hand-crafted dungeons for players to explore, looking at every nook and cranny if they so wish. These areas are filled with many puzzles to solve, hidden treasures and secrets meant only for those who dedicate themselves to discover everything.

Another important aspect of the experience is obtaining loot. Monsters may randomly drop rare items and materials obtained within the dungeons can be used for crafting. As a result, replaying the dungeons can bring many rewards and allow players to improve themselves for future explorations.

One of the aspects of building your character is engaging with the Magic Belt system. Through this menu, it’s possible to allocate various Magic Cards that can provide boosts and improve various aspects of combat and exploration for the player. To obtain new cards, players must use unique materials and, depending on which cards they pick, the end result may vary a lot.

There are also pets which can accompany the player on their journey. The list of fantasy creatures include a winged unicorn, a dragon, a bat and many other cute options, which can be unlocked further with time. According to the game’s description, some pets may excel at helping in combat while others may instead be helpful to uncover hidden treasures, for instance.

Finally, besides the main story, the player will also have multiple requests from the residents to keep in mind. Helping them will provide various rewards and even unlock features that are hidden at first. The developers also point out that these quests provide a look at Votland’s culture, history and truths that perhaps would remain hidden if the player didn’t complete the mission.
