Smarter, faster way to read 3D scans and sparse signals

Imagine a photo where most of the picture is empty, or a 3D scan with just a few dots. Normal image tools waste time looking at blank space. Researchers made a new trick that focuses only on the real bits, so the computer spends time where it matters.
