M.C. proposes three main ways that individuals and groups can get data from governments and organisations: governments releasing it themselves, through FOIA requests or open data initiatives; whistleblowers leaking documents; and lastly taking advantage of the data that people and institutions leak accidentally themselves, a technique that ICWATCH utilises.
