Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH has released Proxmox Datacenter Manager 1.0 under the GNU AGPLv3 license, marking the first stable version of its new management platform designed for large-scale, distributed Proxmox environments.
The tool aims to provide administrators with a unified interface for overseeing Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server deployments, addressing long-standing challenges with fragmented metrics, limited multi-cluster visibility, and manual operational workflows.
The new product provides a consolidated overview of multiple sites, nodes, and clusters, aggregating CPU, memory, storage, and health information into a single dashboard. Views can be customized and filtered by resource type, tags, or remotes, and access can be limited with built-in role-based controls without exposing underlying virtual machines or hosts.
On top of that, the platform introduces multi-cluster management features, enabling independent environments to be monitored and managed centrally.
One of the major additions is support for cross-cluster live migration, enabling virtual machines to be moved between clusters without downtime. Routine VM and container lifecycle operations can be performed directly from the interface, and a unified search system inspired by Elasticsearch and GitHub syntax allows administrators to locate resources quickly, even in infrastructures with thousands of guests.
Proxmox Datacenter Manager 1.0 also adds centralized Software-Defined Networking configuration, including EVPN zones and VNets across connected remotes. A new update management panel aggregates available updates across all Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server hosts and allows administrators to apply them directly through the interface.
Additionally, remote shell access is available for supported versions of Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server, enabling command-line operations from a single control plane.
On the authentication side, the system has added support for LDAP, Active Directory, and OpenID Connect realms. Token-based access enables fine-grained permissions for third-party integrations. The dashboard and resource panels now include metrics and datastore information from Proxmox Backup Server remotes.
Proxmox Datacenter Manager 1.0 is built on Debian 13.2, uses Linux 6.17 as the default stable kernel, includes ZFS 2.3, and is written in Rust with a new Yew-based web interface.
