I have officially spent too much time solving the Advent of code 2023 day 5 problem. I’ve solved it in 10 languages in a bunch of different ways. Functionally, with GPUs and CPU multiprocessing, being "smart" and just brute forcing the problem, and here is what I’ve learned.

This Advent of Code (AoC) problem has been an ongoing thing for me for a few years. Initially I solved it with a group of people at work as a technical discussion and it’s been a bit of a test-bed for me as it’s a simple problem but it complex enough that you can get your teeth into it.
