Tracy E. Gilchrist, the journalist behind the viral “holding space” interview with “Wicked” stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, has launched a new weekly podcat “Holding Space with Tracy E. Gilchrist.”
The first episode, featuring a conversation with Grande’s brother Frankie Grande, premieres Wednesday.
The podcast comes a year after a clip of the then Advocate editor-in-chief and Out correspondent interviewing Erivo and Grande during the “Wicked” press tour went viral. “People are taking the lyrics of ‘Defying Gravity’ and really holding space with that,” the journalist told Erivo, who responded, “I didn’t know that that was happening.” Grande holding Erivo’s fingernail made the viral moment even more unique.

Bruno Alcantara, a pit crew member on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” will join Gilchrist as a guest on the show’s second episode, out Dec. 17. Alcantara will discuss the upcoming Season 18 of “Drag Race” and his experience being a queer immigrant from Brazil.
