Apple TV has released the first trailer for Season 2 of “Hijack,” the Idris Elba thriller series that returns with a new eight-episode story starting Jan. 14, 2026. New episodes will release every week thereafter, leading up to the season finale on March 4, 2026.

The trailer sees Elba return as Sam Nelson, the business negotiator who, in season 1, used his skills to attempt a peaceful deal aboard a hijacked flight from Dubai to London. In Season 2, Nelson is once again caught in a tense situation, this time in the Berlin Underground, where a train car is hijacked and he must use his abilities to protect the hostages. Above ground, law enforcement authorities do what they can to help save the commuters, but their efforts may conflict with Nelson’s vigilante efforts and his firsthand realities.

Alongside Elba, Christine Adams, Max Beesley and Archie Panjabi also reprise their roles from the first season, while Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams and Christiane Paul make their series debuts as original characters.

Elba received an Emmy Nomination for his performance in Season 1 and the show met wide acclaim, becoming one of Apple TV’s top dramas. Season 2 is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta and Tom Nash at 60Forty Films and George Kay and Jim Field Smith at Idiotlamp Productions. Kay and Field Smith are the series’ creators and Field Smith also serves as the series’ lead director.
