Oscar and BAFTA nominee Jonathan Pryce, star of The Two Popes, The Crown and Slow Horses, has come aboard the short film *Largo *as an executive producer.
Currently under consideration for the 2026 Academy Awards in the best live action short film category, Largo follows Musa, a young Syrian refugee living in foster care in the U.K., who builds a makeshift boat in a desperate attempt to sail home and find his missing parents.
The film features first-time actor Zack Elsokari in the lead role, as well as Friday Night Dinner star Tamsin Greig alongside Ammar Haj Ahmad and Kevin McNally.

Directed by filmmaking duo Salvatore Scarpa and Max Burgoyne-Moore, *Largo *is produced by Rachid Sabitri and Charles Meunier, with executive producers Tony Schlesinger, Mustapha Wehbi, Rebecca Harris-Turner, Chris Overton, and now Pryce.
It is a Slick Films production, the company behind The Silent Child, which won the Oscar for best live action short film at the 90th Oscars in 2018.
Beyond its awards trajectory, Largo will be screened in schools across the U.K. during Refugee Week 2026, supporting a nationwide initiative to restore empathy and humanity to public and political conversations around refugee experiences.
The production employed creatives with refugee status across all departments, enriching the film’s authenticity while helping artists build sustainable careers in the British film industry.
