As with the Vectrons, the coaches will be able to operate in seven other countries. The deal includes a two-year warranty period, with Magyar Vagon also providing the spare parts needed to maintain 95% fleet availability in the first two years following delivery.
The new fleet is expected to operate domestic and cross-border inter-city services. Delivery of the Vectrons is expected in April and May 2027, with the new coaches due to arrive between June and October 2028.
“We have clear goals: to become the main transfer point in international transport between southeastern Europe and western and northern Europe,” says Miha Butara, director of SŽ Passenger. “With the new rolling stock we will be even more competitive in international transport, and in the coming years we are also planning to invest in 45 new trains.”
